Elders in Tigray are relied on to imbue a sense of place and history in younger generations. When I was researching the Tigrayan side of my family, history books written in English were not easy to come by, so I felt fortunate to be able to speak directly with people from the community to learn more about my heritage. I learned a great deal through oral history. I hope to share interviews from some elders in the Agamé region of Tigray with you.
